Hidden Mesa Equestrian Ramp

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Delaney Jones and I’m working towards my Eagle Scout rank. To achieve this, I must carry out a service project for my community. Since my mother is a horse trainer and involved in the horse community, I elected to create a project that equestrians could utilize. I’ve worked with Douglas County to design an accessible ramp at the Hidden Mesa trailhead. My mom saw one at a trailhead in Loveland and thought we could use one near us.

The accessible ramp will allow all riders to easily mount their horses, whether they are able-bodied or not. There will be a way to stand your horse between a ramp and a platform to encourage the horse to stand still. The ramp will be 30 feet long and 30 inches high, easy for a wheelchair or walker to ascend.

In order for me to complete this project, I must raise the money to fund it. Fund acquisition is an important part of the project, not only to fund the project but so that I can experience begging for money… er, I mean requesting donations from the kind citizens of this community.

I would be so grateful for your support and donation to build this ramp for the community. I hope that many equestrians will find it useful and feel pride in their participation and support in its completion.

So, please consider a donation. I’ve done considerable planning and calculated the costs to be approximately $1500. Every donation is appreciated, no matter how small.

Thank you for your consideration!  I’ll announce the build date to all donors, so you can witness an Eagle Scout project at work.

Sincerely,

Delaney Jones
