Foxi's chronic pancreatitis fund

Donation protected
First let me start off by saying this is very hard to do for so many personal reasons. I have always been the one who helps, who offers to pay, who goes out of my way to initiate random acts of kindness for total strangers. But this time I need a little help, because I fear that I will have to make a decision based off of not having enough that I do not want to make. When it comes to Foxi she is no doubt one of the sweetest, most caring, playful and fun loving animals I have ever had the pleasure of being around. If you asked me 8 years ago "would you ever own a Chihuahua?" I would of said no immediately. This was originally my ex-wife’s dog, but it latched on to me and I onto it. And when we parted ways I got to keep this angel :)

1.5 years ago Foxi got sick and was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. At the time I had no idea it could be so complicated after the fact. Even after changing her diet, she came down with it again 2 months ago and had other complications with adhesions on her stomach, intestines and pancreas. The vet had to operate to break the organs free, she has biopsies done of the organs in question and no cancer has been found thankfully. She just seems to have been dealt a bum pancreas.

Total in the last 2 months (two separate episodes) are over 4500 dollars. This comes from prolonged treatment at her normal vet that was 1500 with some very generous discounts, 1500 for a specialist internist that did ultrasound to look for blockages, a second occurrence that was a shorter stay for 800 and yesterdays emergency room visit of 400.  And 250 more for blood work before I could even post this.

Some people may ask, is it worth it for a dog? I can honestly tell you that this dog got me through some very dark times in my life, divorce, health iaaues of my own, always there for me. I would not trade a minute of time with this dog to get any of the money back.

How do you put a dog down that still have the ability to wag it's tail and give you kisses even though it is sick. I just could not do it. I just cannot do it.

The money donated will be used for continued treatment to different specialists and preventing the symptoms. The remaining money regardless of what happens over time will be donated to her original vet under the name "Foxi Fund" as a discretionary fund to help people who need some help their self.

Thank you all so much in advance.
