Fostering Love : Team Coco T

I am setting up this campaign on behalf of my friend. She is a big hearted and loving individual who made the selfless choice to become a Foster mother. When I asked her what made her make this bold choice she said: " it's one thing to complain about social issues and how the world is and it's another thing to do something about it". I have watched as she has taken children into her home and bring about amazing changes in their lives. One child in particular she was placed with since birth and he has thrived in her care. Years later he is in the process of being adopted to her - the only mother and home he has ever known. And now, just when things are getting to the final steps, there are difficulties she is facing. My friend has what her physicians have diagnosed as vestibular and tension migraines. Basically she feels all the vertigo, nausea and dizziness as well as migraine pain throughout her day. She's gone through countless medication changes and hospital visit and now gets infusion therapy in hopes of going a day without symptoms. She has some more medical steps to take before things steadily improve. Regardless of the medical side of things, she has never let this effect the care given to her child and always puts on a brave face with a smile to encourage those around her. These days the smiles aren't enough to keep things going. She has been placed out of work until the migraines are more manageable and has no idea when she will be able to return. Although she applied for social security that does not answer the financial needs she has now while she's waiting for the processing of her case. Adding to the financial pressure is the risk of the child she has known and had since birth being taken out of the home because of her lack of income. Any help from community programs are not an option as she does not meet their qualifications: being a guardian to the child in her home or having an income. I've opened up this campaign to help my friend through this difficult time and to keep being what she is to all those children in the system that come through her doors: a hero. It's my turn now as her friend to return the favor and be a hero for her.
