Police Officer and Now Stroke Victim Receives Eviction Notice

This is a critical plea for help: We have passed the critical stage, and are now in dire straits.
This dedicated 72-year-old retired Police Officer who served our community for over twenty years as a volunteer Reserve Officer with no pay or benefits is being evicted from his apartment January 20th and will be homeless. He had a devasting stoke 4 years ago and the subsequent rehabilitation, on-going doctor and medication bills, utilities, deposits, moving expenses, credit check, application fee and first and last month’s rent will require a minimum of $3,000 just to keep him off the streets, but we need a lot more to relieve the financial burden he incurred.  All of this has left him destitute.  He has no family and only a few long-time friends with whom he can rely for help. Therefore, this is why we set the $20,000 goal to give him the jump start he so desperately needs within a few weeks. We have fervently been helping this wonderful man to give him the boost that he needs mentally and physically. We have found him Senior Living which is government subsidized and will be manageable by his social security check, but he still must pay utilities and food expenses.
He has no financial cushion whatsoever. Please, please, please donate whatever you can, so he doesn’t end up on the streets in this weather. Thanks to everyone who can be of help.
