For Jasmine

Donation protected
On the morning of Saturday, October 21st, Jasmine was being driven back to her car by a friend, when a drunk driver drifted into their lane and hit their car head-on. The drunk driver was arrested at the scene, and his passenger, along with Jasmine, were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Since then, Jasmine has been in the ICU, receiving daily surgeries and constant medical care to help her recover from a ruptured diaphragm, lacerated liver and spleen, and broken bones, including her back, arm, and several ribs, among other injuries. Several parts of her large intestine have had to be removed of a consequence of the accident, and her small intestine is constantly being monitored for similar damage. She has also been on assisted breathing since the accident.

For those of us who know Jasmine, she is such a bright light in our lives. She is caring, kind, smart, funny, and the most fun person in the room. She is a loving daughter, a caring sister, and an invaluable best friend. Her kindness and dedication are infectious, and her sass is unreal :)

For those who don't know, Jasmine is a senior at Oregon State University, studying Civil Engineering and Mathematics, where she also works as a Tour Ambassador and competes with the Concrete Canoe Club. She is taking this term off to finish a 6-month internship with the City of Gresham Water Resources Division, where she has been able to practice her engineering skills, and take many leadership roles, through which she thrives.

This page has been started with Jasmine's family's permission to raise money to support her during her recovery. With her many surgeries and extensive hospital stay, she is facing many medical bills, in addition to missing rent payments on her apartment. She will likely not be able to work while she recovers, and will need additional support over the coming weeks. Her mother also cannot work while she spends all of her time with Jasmine in the hospital, and also will need some financial support during this time.

Please consider supporting my best friend and her family during this road to recovery. Jasmine is such a fighter, and we all know she will get through this, with time, love, and support.

Thank you.
