Forester has Fragile-X and Needs Your Help

We are so touched by the outpouring of love and support for Forester and our family in this difficult time. We are continuing to accept contributions to help him, so please share the word.
Last week, our son Forester was diagnosed with Fragile-X Syndrome – a life-time genetic condition that shuts down a protein vital for brain development. It has no cure.
Fragile-X causes intellectual disability, behavioral and learning challenges, and various physical challenges, including a risk of seizures. Additionally, Forester has Autism. He also has the brightest smile you’ll ever see.
Forester loves animals, trains, playing the drums, and eating hotdogs from the campfire. Forester’s needs are significant. He requires one-on-one support at all times. He doesn’t understand about traffic. At almost six, he still wears diapers. He often becomes upset and throws himself on the ground. He is still learning to speak.
Since we’re in our 40s, we will not be there for Forester as he grows old (life expectancy isn’t affected by Fragile-X). Forester didn’t choose to have Fragile-X. We want him to be healthy and happy, and are trusting God with his future.
We opened a Registered Disability Saving Plan (RDSP) for Forester after his Autism diagnosis when he was just 2.5 years old, just in case. Now we see that Forester will likely not be independent and will need support his entire life. His RDSP would provide him with support, starting when he turns 60 and we are gone.
The total contribution limit for an RDSP is $200,000. We have started it and it has a balance of $11,000 already. Please consider helping Forester after we are no longer here to help him by making a contribution to his RDSP (administered by Scotiabank). Any money given to Forester’s RDSP will have 54+ years to grow as he does – every dollar today turns into three dollars then.
