Hi,
My name is Matilda Hansen, or Tilly for short.
I am a bubbly 8 month old who loves to smile, laugh, and visit my cousins and friends. My extended family, especially my uncle, always says that I can’t be a real baby, because I never cry, and I’m always smiling. My Aunty thinks I’m already a gentle loving soul, and says I give the best cuddles and smiles.
My Mum Anna recently went back to work to help my Dad Jess pay the bills and mortgage, so I started childcare. Mum found childcare harder than I did, and was relieved when I loved it. But not long after starting childcare and making new friends I became sick.
In July 2017 I was having trouble with my tummy. My Mum and Dad took me to the hospital. They found a cancerous tumor that was blocking my bowel, making my tummy hurt. The Doctors say that they need to shrink the tumor in order to remove it and stop its growth.
I started chemotherapy in August 2017. This makes me sick, and makes my Mum and Dad very sad. But I still smile and try to make them happy.
I need a minimum of 3 rounds of chemotherapy, and because my immune system is so weak, I can’t go back to childcare right now. And of course Mum doesn’t want to leave my side while I’m fighting to get better. She will not be able to work for atleast 6 months.
So my uncle and auntie helped me create this message. We would greatly appreciate any donations so that mummy and daddy have less to worry about. I am their only child and their world, so you can imagine how hard it is to see me sick. If you can’t donate you can still help by sharing this with your friends. We also appreciate any love, positive thoughts, or prayers you can send our way.
