Please take a moment to read anything helps

For those who don't know me, my name is JJ. I appreciate you taking the time to read some of my story and I hope it resonates with someone out there who may have experienced something similar. Any and all support is appreciated; even if its just a text reaching out or a quick prayer.

This past July, I was diagnosed with Bi-polar Disorder. It can cause everything from dramatic shifts in everyday mood, energy, and even the ability to think clearly at times. It is a serious mental disorder that is treatable, but not curable.

Bi-polar is typically associated with extreme highs and lows in mood, resulting in mania and depression. Before I was diagnosed this summer, I had a manic episode that lasted well over a week and landed me in the University of Alberta mental health ward. I didn't understand what was going on at the time, and it's taken me the majority of the last couple months to process and accept the new journey that I am on. I still have a lot to process and figure out, but it is a journey that I am willing to travel and make the best of.

After being diagnosed, I received treatment which was a whole mission in itself. If anyone has experience taking meds or antidepressants, you know how hard it can be to find the right combination of drugs and balance out the side effects that are a reality with different treatments & medications. It took almost 2 months for the doctors and I to even begin to get a treatment plan that worked with my body and brought me down from my manic state. It was a tough 2 months but was grateful for the treatment I was able to receive.

In the week leading up to my diagnosis and hospital stay, I crashed my vehicle. I've been doing  my best at recovering and giving my head the time and space it needs to fully adjust to the new medications, while trying to work and pay for the legal / lawyer fees from the accident.

The 2 months not receiving income while in the hospital and the decreased workload I am currently able to handle has really pushed me financially, and I am asking for your help.

If you know me personally, you know I am not one to ask for handouts and being honest, even setting up this go fund me and asking for help was not the easiest thing for me to do. I am asking from the kindness of your hearts to support my journey to recovery. Any donation no matter how small is greatly appreciated. If you can not donate, I am asking for your prayers and to share this go fund me link with others.

Thank you in advance for your help, support, and prayers, it means the world to me.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God"

Philippians 4:6

Sincerely,

-JJ
