Hello, my name is Ashleigh Linsdell, the nurse and founder who started the national campaign For The Love Of Scrubs LTD (FTLOS). We are an amazing network and community of volunteers, at our peak of over 68,000 sewers, fundraisers and other volunteers nationwide during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have created a whopping 500,000 sets of scrubs, among other items such as head bands, ear savers, companion hearts, scrub bags and more for our front line workers within the NHS and other healthcare sectors nationwide struggling with the effects of Covid.
We are almost at the point of completing our phase one – whereby we have created enough scrubs for the huge demand, and picked up the shortfall of our government and NHS. We have been relied upon heavily and have managed to fulfil every single request we have received; using over £1000000 (one million) worth of material to do this. This has been fundraised and donated for new materials to be purchased, or donated from large companies, and bedding donated by our communities. It has been incredible.
We have now moved onto phase two, with the help of www.helpmystreet.org/for-the-love-of-scrubs to protect our communities with face coverings alongside the government mandate to wear face coverings in shops, public transport and well, everywhere. We once again, are calling out for donations of material and monetary donations – we already have active sewers desperate to continue helping to support this cause as FTLOS is about so much more than just a sewing community. We have given people hope, pride, something to work for, passion, commitment and friendship. I personally have made some amazing friends throughout this process and I am proud of each and every person who has committed anything to this worthy cause.
Donations we receive can either be donated to our Not-For Profit bank account as an anonymous donation, or via our Fundraiser. We have an amazing Etsy ‘Official Merchandise’ shop were we have some very skilled and talented ‘Scrubbers’ providing their home made business items for us to sell to fundraise and for this we thank you. Finally, Kindred are on board and wanting to help us to fundraise by making, promoting and selling T-shirts and aprons with our logo – FTLOS will receive funds from this. All of these funds will be used to provide haberdashery items such as elastic and thread and more materials for every request we get that we can fulfil.
We have a continued need within our society, and for this reason we are still asking for the very appreciated help we can receive from our communities. Small and large amounts, we thank you.
