For the Love of Raven...

Raven’s journey started at J.M. Pet Resort when she was surrendered to the facility’s shelter, The Blue Dog Shelter. Raven and her brother, House, were relinquished to the shelter after their previous owner had struggled to find a place that allowed dogs. Raven got a tough break and as so she was a tough dog. For a long time she mourned the loss of her owner and her brother House. Raven stayed in our Shelter for a few months and bonded with only a few people. I work at JM Pet Resort and slowly I got to know Raven. I appreciated her strength and beauty, and felt drawn to Raven as the weeks went by.
Knowing that the odds of getting adopted were getting slimmer, I had to do something to make a difference. I began working with Raven along with the professional trainers at J.M. Pet Resort who provided valuable insight and guidance into Raven’s behavior. Day by day , week by week, we started to see a change in Raven. Eventually, she came to live with me and my family on our farm and we have continued our work with her.
More than a year later and with lots of love and hard work Raven has blossomed into a happy secure dog living a wonderful life full of love in a stable home. She has hit her stride at a bouncy 6 years old and she is truly an irreplaceable family member.
Sadly, we just found out that Raven has a mass in her mammary gland and it must be surgically removed. The veterinarians want to remove it as soon as possible (hopefully November 14th) so that the cancer does not spread. This news is devastating to us. Raven has overcome every challenge that has been put in front of her. Now, I must reach out further into our community to help me help Raven. I need your help and financial support to overcome this crushing obstacle so she can continue living the happy and healthy life she so desperately deserves. We have given an estimate of $3,000 for the surgery. Any amount will help. Thank you in advance.
