For The Love Of Her Game...

The City of Arroyo Grande has reluctantly raise the fees to all youth sports organizations in what they call a "cost recovery mode".   The City of Arroyo Grande spends nearly $200,000 to maintain Soto Sports Complex without the assistance of neighboring communities who's residence utilize these fields as well.

Soto Sports Complex has been our home since the beginning of our organization and with these fee increases we are in jeopardy of losing them for good, if we are unable to pay the increase in fees for the upcoming Spring season.

It has been proven that youth sports has a significant impact on female athletes with higher self esteems, 40% higher test scores, less likely to abuse drugs or teen pregnancy, 15% more likely to attend college...this community we live in already has a limited amount of activities available for our youth, it would be detrimental to see our girls lose this opportunity.

Five Cities Girls Softball has a no player left behind approach and therefore has several players on scholarships.  This  would limit our ability to provide this much needed outlet to those who are unable to pay.  We have girls in our league who come from horrible living situations and this is their safe place.

Growing up myself in a troubled home I understand the importance of having that outlet as a child to express myself.  Five Cities Girls Softball was just that for me.  The goal setting and hard work kept me focused on building my character and self esteem and the relationships I built with my team members and coaches are invaluable to this day.

Every girl has a story...I know there are many of my team members and team members before me that understand what softball means to these girls and I'm asking you to donate what you can to keep this program moving forward to bring a positive outlet for our young girls in this community.  Let's protect the opportunity for our girls to play softball.  Please share this fundraiser with your team...
