For The Family of Doug Norton

The pictures don’t lie. Doug’s face was shaped for radiance. His smile and eyes didn’t have to stretch wide to make for the openness necessary to convey the tenderness and sensitivity at the heart of his artistic sensibilities that enriched his love for Shelley, Reese and Jude. Picture after picture holds for eternity what Shelley gave to his heart and how their union gave him those precious, sweet kids, our beautiful niece and nephew, who always gleamed with him in their photos. Next to them we will forever see his love fused with the uncontainable pride their beauty, characters and achievements filled him. We don’t say manliness much anymore, but he had it running through so many capabilities and how his late life running career shaped his very own swagger. Along with a native intelligence that enabled him to rise in his career and provide so substantially for his family, his physical powers and self taught mechanical aptitudes gifted us as he became our “Trail Boss’” on our precious family vacations motorcycling all over our Rocky Mountains. Somehow Life yet gave him a trail he could not quite ride to fulfillment and he recently took his own life. Those gifts of love and sustaining resources that supported the family are gone now. Shelley and the kids need our help to support some of the immediate expenses and continue contributions to Reese’s and Jude’s college savings plans. Reese has just begun her senior year in high school, and college is now less than a year away! The outpouring of love to these dear friends from their extended family and community is helping to anneal the emotional turmoils of this time. Financial assistance will go a long way to quell the fears of their material sustainability going forward and ground their well being all the more. Let’s as community, all come together to see what we can do for this beautiful family.
