<div>On Saturday, March 8th, Basford United player Josh Barnes suffered a significant injury, resulting in the game being abandoned.

<div>This page has been set up to help with any potential financial hardship this injury may cause. Josh makes his living as a performance coach, specialising in 1-to-1 football training and other on-the-pitch work, something this injury will prevent him from doing for some time.

<div>Paramedics responded quickly, making him comfortable on the pitch before he was lifted onto a stretcher, into the ambulance and taken to the hospital.
</div>

<div>From what we know, Josh has broken his ankle and his fibula quite high up his leg. The medical team realigned it as best they could before putting it in a cast last night. He is undergoing surgery on Monday and may need plates for his fibula, as well as pins and screws for his ankle.
</div>

<div>Josh is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and a huge part of the Basford United family. Any support, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated to help him through his recovery.
