<div>Labor day weekend, Parker and his 8 year old sister Teagan were involved in a tragic roll over go cart accident into a pond.  Despite heroic measures by family members and first responders, Parker did not survive the accident but through some miracle Teagan was able to free herself and was treated and released at the scene. This is a horrific, unimaginable loss to the family.

<div>There are some people you meet in life who are just good people. And there are people like Jamie and Scott, the kind of people who make you wonder how one can possibly have enough of themselves to give to everyone.

<div>Jamie is a best friend to everyone and if you know her, you already know exactly what I mean. She's never been very good at saying no. If someone needs help, Jamie and Scott help. If someone needs someone to stay with them, they stay.
</div>
<div>Jamie is always the first person to bring the snacks and drinks, the first person helping clean up and the last person still awake with you at the end of the night. They don't gossip, they don't tear people down. They make people feel comfortable just by being themselves.

<div>Over the weekend, Jamie and Scott lost their 11-year-old son Parker. There really aren't words big enough for that.

<div>Parker is one of those kids you couldn't help but notice. He was vibrant and full of energy, an absolute brute of a kid in the best possible way. He was incredibly affectionate and had the kind of hugs that made you feel like he was always trying to squeeze the life right back into you. He was incredibly kind. He was a straight A student. He had manners, was inquisitive and thoughtful. He paid attention and cared. He didn't walk around acting like he was better than anyone even though he had something that very few people have.

<div>Sports weren't just something he liked. He had a natural ability that was almost ridiculous. He loved sports, especially football and the Buffalo Bills. If you ever watched him play, you couldn't help but wonder where that talent could've taken him. Every kid wants to be in the NFL or the MLB one day. But of all the kids I've seen play, he was one of the ones you could actually imagine making it. He didn't even seem to know how good he was. He never needed to brag about it. He was just a kid who loved to play.

<div>He was supposed to be starting Middle School. He never got his first day. And his little sister, Teagan, who is only eight years old is supposed to be starting school too. But now she has to do it without her big brother. She's having to learn what it means to miss someone who should still be here. She misses him in the little ways that break your heart. There should be so many more ordinary days for these two kids. School mornings. Arguments over stupid little things. Laughing until they couldn't breathe. Holidays, Birthdays, Watching each other grow up. Instead, Teagan is already learning what it feels like to lose someone she loves. And her parents are trying to figure out how to help her through that while trying to survive their own grief.

<div>That's the part that is so hard to wrap your head around. There should've been a first day of school. New clothes. New teachers. New friends. Sports. Growing up. All of the ordinary things that you get to look forward to as your child gets older. Instead, they are trying to figure out how to move forward without him.

<div>While no amount of money can ever touch the kind of loss this family is facing, the practical reality is that grief doesn't stop the bills. Funeral expenses, time away from work, household, expenses, and everything that comes with suddenly losing a child doesn't disappear just because the family is grieving.

<div>This family didn't have much to begin with. They aren't people who have a financial safety net waiting for them. Jamie and Scott are the people who would normally be the first ones helping someone else through something like this. This time, they need people to help them.

<div>So, we're asking for help. Not because anything can make this OK, and not because money can fix something that cannot be fixed. We're asking because this family deserves a chance to grieve their son without also having to panic about how they're going to pay for everything.

<div>If you know Jamie and Scott, you know they would give you the shirt off heir back. Jamie shows up with food, stays up late with you, helps clean up, makes you laugh, and somehow can make you feel a little less alone.
