For our friend, Joseph Mahon

Joseph Mahon, touched and saved many lives. He was an EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) for the Army, he served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Those who served and serve in the Military know he was a Goddam HERO, as one friend said, "It takes a strong brave man to be an EOD and l know that you helped to save many Airman, Marines, Army and Navy lives. You are a true hero and you will always be remembered."  Joe’s experience as an EOD in the military is what gave him severe PTSD and ultimately what ended his life.

We made this GoFundMe account to help his wife, April, their 3 month year old Alice, his 3 children, his step-kids which were like his own, his parents and sister, to give them time to heal from this great loss. 

Joe stood behind the scenes, he was the person who often gave us, his childhood friends, advice and gave a lending hand. Joe was loved deeply by his wife, April. She understood where he was emotionally and made every attempt to help him. She is the type of partner we all strive to be. We see her as his soulmate and she is very open about his passing on his Facebook page and expresses deeply how the system failed him while he continued to live his life as a civilian, (her story is shared below). 

As a graduate of Judge Memorial High School, from the class of 2001, we ask for your help, to help with a small or large financial contribution to our fellow classmate’s family. We’ve lost too many before their time, but we as a community can show our support big or small.
