For Oscar
This page has been set up to help raise money for Oscar to fund equipment to attempt to help him live as independently as possible and give him the best quality of life.
Oscar is 3 years old and has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He was born at 29 weeks and developed his condition at birth through a combination of lack of oxygen and a severe bleed on the brain. Oscar's first 89 days were spent in NICU and on two occasions we were told Oscar wouldn’t make it, but he's here and living life to the full.
Oscar hasn’t yet reached the milestones of sitting up or walking unaided, and despite not achieving these goals he is a massively determined little boy who will fight to be the best he possibly can.
Despite his condition and tough start he has had he is a very happy little boy who deserves the best in life.
By setting up this page we are hoping to raise enough for Oscar's fund so he can get the equipment he needs as he grows up. The equipment that would massively improve his development includes adequate seating, walking frames and also a specialist car seat. We have recently raised enough at Pleasington Golf Club for a trike for Oscar to give him his bit of freedom and allow him to join in with other children.
As Oscar grows up he is going to be more dependant on us as his parents and his needs are going to change such as needing bigger bikes, seating, standing and walking frames. Although some of these are available on the NHS the waiting times can be very long.
We are in the process of planning additional fundraising events for Oscar. With your generosity we hope to raise a phenomenal amount of money to support Oscar as he develops. All the money raised will be put in a fund for Oscar for further equipment and needs as he grows older.
