For My Brother Joe

Most of you that will come to this page already know Joe.  As you know he is battling a rare form of Leukemia.  All the treatments that he has endured over the past months have not worked to bring him into remission.  He was supposed to go back into the hospital for another round of chemo, but his doctor came across a clinical trial!  A clinical trial in New York for Joe's specific and exact type of cancer.  His doctor made the call and was able to get Joe accepted into the trial!  They have opened the trial to 5 people and Joe is the first one!  So as of yesterday, June 21, 2018 he was admitted into Weils Cornell University in NY.  He will begin the trial drug on Thursday, and remain in NY so they can monitor him and his progress.  This new drug is so very promising and the answer to all the prayers Joe has been getting from all the people who love him.  The first clinical trial was in Switzerland, and out of 10 people who were in the trial 7 are now in remission!  

Now the reason for me, his sister, setting up this page is that his wife Joyce is not able to stay in his hospital room with him like she was able to while he was going through his chemo at Penn.  Obviously Joyce wants to be there for him, but since she can't stay in the hospital she will have to pay for a hotel room.  New York is not a cheap place to hang out and so I wanted to do this as a way of helping.  I am so far away, and feel helpless here in NC.  This is my way of supporting them.  You know Joe, he's already telling Joyce not to come up there because he doesn't want her to spend the money, and well you know Joyce.....she's so not going to listen to him!  So in order to keep him from stressing out about finances, I started this Go Fund Me page.  Please consider donating whatever you can.  If you can't support with a financial donation, that's okay, please pray for Joe.  Pray for his medical team,  pray that this trial drug brings him into remission, pray for all the others who are suffering from cancer.
