For my brother Jeff and his medical expenses.

As many of you know my brother has been in the ICU in a hospital in Bali undergoing a severe and nearly life threatening illness. He has had to undergo serious surgery, get many tests and scans and at one point was in so much pain he had to go under anesthesia for two days.

Luckily he was in good hands, he is on the mend and he will be ok, but with all of this comes a big hospital expense. His hospital bill at the moment is extremely large and he is still under the waiting period of the local health insurance and surpassed any canadian health insurance as he has reached the max time to renew. The local insurance has several exceptions and to rule anything else out the hospital had to do many tests to investigate and rule out or confirm suspicions in order to move forward and Jeff had no choice in receiving these. Jeff has been in the ICU for over three weeks and every sector has a specialist which means an additional cost per visit and the bill has racked up beyond what we could ever imagine. During his surgery things kept coming up and being discovered which were part of the exception list on his policy. The local health insurance won’t cover any discharge, meds, vitamins, anti anxiety or sleep aids during or after the hospital stay.

It is very unfortunate that this has happened while he was not in his home country. He will be flying home as soon he is able to- hopefully in the next couple weeks.

Jeff has endured a year of unimaginable stress. He has been working in Bali building his private dream Villa, but with that also came a lot of betrayal and was misled multiple times by people there. For that and many reasons he had to pause his project and start planning to come home but before he could sort out his travel and with restrictions he ended up in the hospital very sick.

He is not sure if or when he will be able to get back to Bali to finish the Villa but at this point the most important thing is we get him home and healthy.

If you know my brother, he would give his last dollar to anyone. He is one of the most giving and selfless people I know. This year was supposed to be a much needed positive and happy year after losing my dad, and everything possible has gone wrong for him. It has been absolutely heartbreaking to watch him go through all of this and all alone and unable to be with him or help.

Anything out of this fundraiser will go towards his hospital bill, travel home and a much needed pause on life until he can figure everything out. He will also need to be back and forth for checks and blood work every three days until he is fit to fly home.

We also don't want Jeff to have to rush his healing, we want him to take his time and have the Jeff back that we all love and know.
