For Merritt

As many of you know, my niece Merritt is currently hospitalized due to respiratory distress with RSV/ear infection. On Thursday (11/17), Merritt was rushed to the ER with a 105.5 fever and difficulty breathing.
Her oxygen levels were in the high 70s and it was determined that she needed higher care than what the current hospital could provide. She was flown to MUSC in Charleston, SC to the PICU where she was placed on a high flow oxygen machine.
Since then, she has slowly improved and is breathing well with assistance from the machine. It’s been an up and down process, with her high fever spikes causing her oxygen level to decrease and setting her back on weaning from the machine. Her medical team is currently looking into making sure she doesn’t have another infection or another virus on top of the RSV/ear infection.
She’s been in the hospital now for four days with no release date due to the process for respiratory care varying for every child. This process just takes time.
With what is sure to be a high medical cost, and with the family being away from home in another city, we are raising money to help them in anyway possible.
Prayers for the family is also greatly appreciated.
