Let’s be real, if you know Logan and Karin AT ALL, I’m sure you have already thought to yourself “How can I help?”
For anyone who might stop by on whim, here is the rundown from Karin as of 1/27/18:
"Hi friends of Logan... Karin here: In case you don't already know I just wanted to give an update on what's happened this last week. Logan was involved in an altercation with the town thief and was stabbed 3 times on Monday night. He went into surgery early Tuesday and is still recovering in the hospital. The staff and surgeons that have helped him have been amazing and we are so grateful for them. He is on the mend but it will be a long road to recovery. The suspect is in custody and will undoubtedly pay for what he did. Any messages will be passed on and he will respond as soon as he can but communication is still a bit of a challenge. I know he appreciates the support!"
These beautiful souls are the most giving, hilarious, hard working, fun loving idiots in the world. They give to their community every day. In fact, while the details are still unknown to me, I am sure Logan got hurt trying to help someone out. They rescue more island dogs than I can count, host visitors on a continuous basis when they are busy with the shop, and my cheeks always hurt from smiling after visiting with them.
I have avoided using the word “stabbed” because I still don’t believe it and it seems so gruesome. But that’s what this Gofundme is for, so I guess I have to say it. Between the hurricane that wiped out the island, and now this, I have been left thinking “How can I help all the way from here?” This is all I can come up with.
Whether they need it for the store, for dogs they love, for medical bills, for traveling when he is healthy enough, let’s give them something to let them know we want to help.
