For Keira

My brother, John O'Shaughnessy, is a good father who can't afford legal fees to fight a custody battle for his daughter. He has shared custody with Keira's birth mother unofficially from day 1. He has paid child support, on time, each month, in a dollar amount agreed to by her mother. Kiera was diagnosed with Type I diabetes, and John took classes to learn how to provide the best care for her. Keira has been on vacations, to festivals, and shared Holidays with all of our large family. Her mother was welcomed for many years as part of the family. Now, for reasons I can only speculate on, her mother is wanting John out of Keira's life. The mother has a fiance and two children from that relationship. She petitioned for a restraining order against my brother. Once a lawyer was retained to defend against that, she filed for full custody. The fees for a second retainer exceed my brother's earnings and savings. Please contribute what you can to help keep Keira in our family. We love her.
