Sylvester Smith Memorial Fund

I am writing this with a heavy heart. A good friend and classmate at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, who would have been graduating this spring with an Engineering degree, passed away on Nov 27. Sylvester Smith was fatally struck by a tanker truck while helping a snowmachiner on the side of the Parks Highway when coming back to school after Thanksgiving. He died how he lived: helping and embracing people even if he didn't know them. Sylvester was an amazing friend and was always willing to reach out. He had a huge heart and welcomed anyone into his life. The impact he has had is incalculable and he will be sorely missed.

We are soliciting donations in his memory that will be used for his family and hopefully help with the expenses. Any sized donation is much appreciated.
