<div>On April 11th 2023 Elia had been urgently admitted into Ronald Raegan UCLA medical center for immediate brain surgery.
</div>
<div>Absolutely unexpectedly it was discovered that Elia had a large tumor causing severe mass effect on the brainstem with complete effacement of the fourth ventricle and accompanying basal cisterns, with compression of the brainstem, 9 mm tonsillar herniation, and obstructive hydrocephalus, as well as a 1cm lipoma in hypothalamus/tuber cinereum.

<div>She was a regular, happy and bubbly girl and had no symptoms until few weeks prior to her surgery.
</div>
<div>Her health deteriorated rapidly since the mass presented itself.
</div>
<div>She was in critical condition when admitted for the urgent surgery.
</div>

</div>
<div>Elia had a 10 1/2 hr brain surgery.
</div>
<div>She had s/p right parietal burrhole for placement of EVD and suboccipital craniotomy, C1 laminectomy, telo-velar approach to resection of a large 4th ventricular brain tumor.
</div>
<div>Later she received the diagnosis of glioma/astrocytoma with genetic mutation, a very rare tumor, especially in children.
</div>

<div>During the surgery they’ve lost signal from Elia, her little body was giving up, and although the team was able to stabilize her, the surgery had to be stopped. The surgeon was able to only remove a portion of her tumor, about a half.
</div>

<div>Her recovery has been a lot more challenging than anyone expected. She is not recovering as well as hoped for.
</div>
<div>Our hope was to sustain her body for the next few years so she is able to receive medical non-surgical treatment.
</div>
<div>However. recently Elia started to regress.
</div>

</div>
<div>There are currently no effective treatments in US for her diagnosis, but we have options in Europe.
</div>
<div>At this point time is going against us.
</div>
<div>We need to her Elia treatment within the next 1-2 months.
</div>

</div>
<div>As a single mom of 7 I have done all I possibly could on my own.
</div>

</div>
<div>Today, I am reaching out to all of you who are reading this page in hope that together we can make a miracle happen.

<div>An unexpected surgery and recovery is an incredible financial hit for anyone, but especially for a single mom.

<div>I cannot get Elia her treatment in time by myself.

<div>Меня зовут Оля. Я собираю средства для маленькой Элии.
</div>
<div>11 апреля 2023 года Элию экстренно госпитализировали в медицинский центр Рональда Рейгана UCLA для немедленной операции на мозге.
</div>
<div>Совершенно неожиданно было обнаружено, что у Элии большая опухоль, которая сильно давит на стволовую часть мозга, полностью закрывая четвертый желудочек и сопутствующие основные цистерны с сдавлением стволовой части мозга, 9 мм грыжей мозжечка и обструктивным гидроцефалом, а также 1 см липомой в гипоталамусе/тубере кинереуме.

<div>Она была обычной, счастливой и веселой девочкой и не имела никаких симптомов до буквально нескольких недель перед операцией.
</div>
<div>Её состояние стремительно ухудшилось за несколько дней до обнаружения опухоли.
</div>
<div>Она была в критическом состоянии, когда её госпитализировали для экстренной операции.
</div>

<div>У Элии была 10,5-часовая операция на мозге.
</div>
<div>Она прошла через правое теменное отверстие для установки EVD и подзатылочную краниотомию, ламинэктомию C1, тело-веларный доступ к резекции большой опухоли четвертого желудочка.
</div>
<div>Позже она получила диагноз глиомы с пилоидными особенностями, очень редкой опухоли, особенно у детей.
</div>

<div>Во время операции был потерян сигнал жизни Элии, её маленькое тело отказывалось работать, и хотя команда смогла стабилизировать её, операцию было необходимо остановить из-за риска снова потерять Элию. Хирург смог удалить только часть её опухоли, примерно половину.

</div>
<div>Её восстановление оказалось гораздо более сложным, чем все ожидали. Элия не восстанавливается так, как мы надеялись.
</div>
<div>Наша надежда была поддерживать её тело в течение следующих нескольких лет, чтобы она могла получить медицинское нехирургическое лечение.
</div>
<div>Однако недавно у Элии начался регресс.
</div>

<div>Мы попробовали все возможное. В настоящее время в США не осталось более эффективных методов лечения для её диагноза, но у нас есть варианты в Европе.
