For Debbie and Ruby

It is great sadness that Addiction and in particular Heroin addiction is killing so many of our friends and family members causing crippling and rippling pain throughout our community in Southern Maryland and all across this nation!! I'm so saddened that this tragedy has hit awfully close to home. A fellow Nurse and colleague at a community hospital in southern Maryland we have been struggling how to wrap our hearts around our Debbie as she copes in this most challenging and difficult time. She lost 2 of her adult children to Heroin Addiction. She still has her Ruby though. I have not met someone so strong to even be able to stand today. But she is standing. Her family is standing. And we are standing against what seem to be endless reports of opioid overdoses and deaths. The following is from Debbie....
"It is now sinking in that I just lost 2 children in 9 months from heroin addiction. I truly have no words. All I can do is sit by their grave sites and wish they both were still here. My heart is totally broken. My pain is best described as someone knocking the wind out of you and you just can't breathe. This feeling comes in waves just like the ocean waves hitting the beach. I plead with every parent reading this post to talk to your children. This drug has got to be stopped. I pray that no other parent has to feel my pain. The pictures are of my Stephanie Cave and my Pat J Cave Sr. Stephanie died Aug 27- 2016 and my Patrick died May 27, 2017. They are together forever with our lord now. God I miss them and love them both. Until we meet again. I miss you both."

Debbie's visits their grave sites often and mentioned her son Pat needs a headstone. I also believe Debbie needs a cushion for Mental Health days and other expenses. There are several grandchildren and their relationship with heir Grandma is so important right now. Debbie needs our love and our prayers. And if you can spare a $1, $5, $10 it would be one area of our Debbie's life she wouldn't have to worry about for a while. I can't begin to understand the grief and sorrow she is feeling and her co-workers and I want to help any way we can. We Love You Debbie and we know that faith and love will see you through the storm. ❤️
