For Bennys Surgery

Hi friends,
This adorable little guy right here is named Benny. He has been my wonderful girlfriend, Emily's dog for two years now. Although we don't know he exact age, we believe he is about three years old. He is the goofiest, most cuddly dog on the planet and will never pass up a good nap. He greets everyone he meets with excitement, love, and just a little bit of slobber. His favorite past time is eating and he spends his days being silly with Emily. Benny is truly an amazing little pup, who happens to be facing some hard times right now.
Benny was born with a bowed leg. At the time the vet didn't believe it would negatively impact his growth or development. However, over the last several months it has become very apparent that his front left leg has been causing him a lot of pain. After consulting with the vet and ruling out a few other options, they have narrowed the pain down to either being extreme arthritis or cancer, with the only option being amputation of the limb. When Emily and her family found out they immediately scheduled a surgery for May 2020. Now that Covid-19 has put our society at a stand still, the vet has postponed Benny's surgery because it is not considered an emergency.
With the current state of the world, and the family needing to take care of other urgent expenses, we are worried about the costs of Benny's surgery and aftercare, when we finally can get the vet to agree to the operation. We are hoping to convince the vet it IS an emergency as soon as we gather the funds. He currently spends his days sleeping the pain away and it is absolutely heartbreaking. It is very urgent that he gets his leg off as soon as possible so he can go back to being the loving, energetic pupper we all know and love. He shouldn't have to be in pain just because money is tight. He deserves so much more. <3
