For Amaja to compete in the World Championships

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amaja.

I am 11 years old and have qualified for the Great Britain Team to complete in the Biathle World Championships in Bali taking part in November 2023.
My dream is to be able to go and compete for my country and I would very much appreciate any financial assistance and sponsorship to help me realise that ambition.

The Biathle is part of the Pentathlon series and consists of a continuous run/swim/run competition. I am currently leading the Yorkshire Championship in the under 13 girls category having won all the meets I have entered in the 2023 season and hoping to win the British Championship, but still have two rounds to go.

My other sporting achievements are that I am part of the Swim England Talent Pathway. In my age category I am ranked number one in Yorkshire on the 400m freestyle and in the top 10 in the North of England in a number of swim events including the 400m individual medley. I have qualified and taken part in the finals of the Yorkshire Championship, the North East Regional Championships and National Qualifiers and successfully won many gold medals.

I have competed in National School Championships middle distance running and attained regional level distance running qualification times.

I enjoy and regularly take part in swim/run events, this year achieving the all time record for 400m swim and 2km run in the aquathon event at Helmsley.

I train 18 hours over 6 days every week, starting at 5am, for 2 hours each weekday morning before attending school, and still attaining the highest academic results in my year.

I have set myself the goal of winning the world championships in Bali this year. As GB Pentathlon are unable to financially support their younger athletes, and to try and achieve this I am hoping to raise assistance towards kit, travel expenses and accommodation.

This is very important to me as this is potentially a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent and compete for my country and to have achieved this at 11 years of age it would be heart-breaking, having worked so hard, to not have the chance to fore fill this dream.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to look at and read my story and if you feel that you would like to contribute and help me on this journey it would be very much appreciated and I will do my best in these Championships and beyond to make your belief in me into a bright and successful future.
