Footprint - One Family's Sustainability Journey
Donation protected
Marianne and Wesley are going carbon neutral.
With Mitch Taylor, of Claim Your Leisure Media, we want to document our experience getting there and share it with you and people across the country.
We need your help to shoot a full length documentary about one household’s effect on climate change and how they can reduce their impact. We will follow a mother and her child's journey as they retrofit their home to be off of fossil fuels and incorporate sustainability initiatives into their day to day life to meet a goal of carbon neutrality by 2030. We will use a local lens to highlight the strength in community and the grassroots initiatives that can support families in transitioning to a lifestyle that ensures a decent quality of life for our children. We hope to provide a message of hope and inspiration at a critical time in environmental history.
By donating now, you help us secure our budget and provide proven support to funders and sponsors. A donation will also secure your spot at our film screening event planned for Feb. 2021 (location and details TBD) or a digital access code to watch the film online. Pay what you can. $10 donation encouraged.
Themes:
-Personal actions that can be taken to combat climate change
-Adults responding to the call for action from youth - doing it for our children
-Setting an example for other homeowners, larger business, municipalities, etc. in response to the declaration of climate emergency and the need for immediate action
-If a single mother, with non-profit salary can prioritize this, why can’t larger enterprises?
-Working and living within a community and supporting local suppliers to strengthen resiliency and local knowledge base
