<div>We are <strong>Dorothee Fischer </strong>and <strong>Oliver Sharpe</strong>, co-founders of <a href="https://legadosharpefischer.eu/about/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Legado Sharpe &amp; Fischer</a>, a company dedicated to the catering for film productions (<a href="https://salsaverde.es/home-esp/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Salsa Verde</a>) and communications.

<div>We live in Valencia City, close by to the 79 villages and neighbourhoods that have been devasted by the <strong>DANA flood </strong>starting on <strong>29/10/2024.</strong>
</div>
<div>With our experience and existing infrastructure (foodtruck, generators, water fountains, tents..) we decided to help the people in the affected communities. For this reason, we have gathered a group of <strong>40+ volunteers.</strong>

<div><strong>PHASE 1: Emergency relief</strong>
</div>
<div>In this phase we
</div>
<div>•	<strong>distributed warm meals</strong>, coffee, and essentials to flood victims and volunteers.
</div>
<div>•	created <strong>safe spaces</strong> for rest, phone charging, and emotional support.
</div>
<div>•	partnered with <strong>local suppliers </strong>to deliver food, hygiene products, school supplies, and pet food.
</div>

<div>With the immediate crisis easing, our mission now shifts toward long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts. While in this initial phase we provided urgent emergency relief, we are now focusing on reconstruction and restoring “normality” in the areas.

<div>In the first phase we were able to make many personal contacts either with the institutions/local organiastions (e.g. in Alfafar, Sedavi and Algemesi) as well as with many people living in these areas.
</div>

<div><strong>PHASE 2: The journey continues – recovery and reconstructio</strong>n
</div>
<div>In this phase, our support will go to:
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Supporting families in Alfafar</strong>: Working with local schools and municipalities, we are identifying those hardest hit—families who lost homes, businesses, and more.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Providing school supplies: </strong>With the help of volunteers, we are delivering school materials to children in need to restore a sense of normalcy.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Community cleanup: </strong>Volunteers are helping cleanup efforts in schools and neighbourhoods- recovery is a long road, with 79 municipalities affected.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Rebuilding local businesses:</strong> We are supporting entrepreneurs by purchasing equipment to reopen shops like bakeries and grocery stores.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Environmental restoration in Albufera Nature Park: </strong>Floodwaters polluted Valencia’s iconic rice fields and lakes. Cleaning these areas is essential for farmers to resume their business.

<div>Our crowdfunding campaign remains open, and your continued support is vital to helping those affected by this disaster rebuild their lives and communities. We knew from the beginning that this is not a matter of a few days but rather of weeks and months to come. <div>Wir sind Dorothee Fischer und Oliver Sharpe, Mitbegründer von <a href="https://salsaverde.es/home-esp/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Legado Sharpe &amp; Fischer</a> einem Unternehmen, das sich auf das Catering für die Filmproduktion (<a href="https://salsaverde.es/home-esp/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Salsa Verde</a>) und die Kommunikation spezialisiert hat.

<div>Wir leben in Valencia City, in der Nähe der 79 Dörfer und Stadtteile, die durch die <strong>DANA-Flut</strong> vom <strong>29.10.2024 </strong>verwüstet wurden.
</div>
<div>Mit unserer Erfahrung und der vorhandenen Infrastruktur (Imbisswagen, Generatoren, Wasserbrunnen, Zelte...) haben wir beschlossen, den Menschen in den betroffenen Gemeinden zu helfen. Aus diesem Grund haben wir eine Gruppe von über <strong>40 Freiwilligen</strong> zusammengestellt.

<div><strong>PHASE 1: Nothilfe</strong>
</div>
<div>In dieser Phase
</div>
<div>•	<strong>verteilten </strong>wir warme <strong>Mahlzeiten, Kaffee </strong>und <strong>lebensnotwendige Güter</strong> an Flutopfer und Freiwillige.
</div>
<div>•	richteten wir <strong>safe Spaces</strong> zum Ausruhen, zum Aufladen von Handys und für emotionale Unterstützung ein.
</div>
<div>•	arbeiteten mit <strong>lokalen Lieferanten</strong> zusammen, um Lebensmittel, Hygieneprodukte, Schulmaterial und Tiernahrung zu liefern.
</div>

<div>Da sich die unmittelbare Krise nun entspannt, verlagert sich unser Auftrag nun auf langfristige Bemühungen zur Erholung und zum Wiederaufbau. Während wir in dieser ersten Phase dringend benötigte Nothilfe geleistet haben, konzentrieren wir uns nun auf den Wiederaufbau und die Wiederherstellung der „Normalität“ in den Gebieten.

<div>In der ersten Phase konnten wir viele persönliche Kontakte knüpfen, sowohl zu den Institutionen/lokalen Organisationen (z. B. in Alfafar, Sedavi und Algemesi) als auch zu vielen Menschen, die in diesen Gebieten leben.

<div><strong>PHASE 2: Wiederaufbau</strong>
</div>
<div>In dieser Phase wird unsere Unterstützung Folgendes umfassen:

<div>•	<strong>Unterstützung</strong> von <strong>Familien in Alfafar</strong>: In Zusammenarbeit mit örtlichen Schulen und Gemeinden ermitteln wir die am stärksten betroffenen Familien, die ihr Zuhause, ihr Geschäft und vieles mehr verloren haben.
</div>
<div>• Bereitstellung von <strong>(Schul)material:</strong> Mit der Hilfe von Freiwilligen liefern wir Schulmaterial an bedürftige Kinder, um ein Gefühl der Normalität wiederherzustellen.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Gemeinsame Aufräumarbeiten</strong>: Freiwillige helfen bei Aufräumarbeiten in Schulen und Wohngebieten – der Wiederaufbau ist ein langer Weg, da 79 Gemeinden betroffen sind.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Wiederaufbau lokaler Unternehmen</strong>: Wir unterstützen Unternehmer durch den Kauf von Ausrüstung, um Geschäfte wie Bäckereien und Lebensmittelgeschäfte wieder zu eröffnen.
</div>
<div>• Sanierung des <strong>Naturparks Albufera:</strong> Die ikonischen Reisfelder und Seen Valencias wurden durch das Hochwasser verschmutzt. Die Reinigung dieser Gebiete ist für die Landwirte unerlässlich, um ihre Tätigkeit wieder aufzunehmen.

<div>Con nuestra experiencia e infraestructura existente (foodtruck, generadores, fuentes de agua, tiendas de campaña..) decidimos ayudar a la gente de las comunidades afectadas, algunas de las cuales aún no tienen electricidad ni suministro de agua. Por ello, reunimos a un grupo de 40 voluntarios.

<div><strong>FASE 1: Ayuda de emergencia</strong>

<div>En esta fase
</div>
<div>•	distribuimos <strong>comidas calientes, café </strong>y artículos de primera necesidad a las víctimas de las inundaciones y a los voluntarios.

<div>•	creamos <strong>espacios seguros</strong> para el descanso, la carga de teléfonos y el apoyo emocional.
</div>
<div>•	nos asociamos con <strong>proveedores locales</strong> para distribuir alimentos, productos de higiene, material escolar y comida para mascotas.

<div>Una vez superada la crisis inmediata, nuestra misión se centra ahora en la recuperación y reconstrucción a largo plazo. Si bien en esta fase inicial proporcionamos ayuda de emergencia urgente, ahora nos centramos en la reconstrucción y el restablecimiento de la «normalidad» en las zonas.

<div>En la primera fase pudimos establecer muchos contactos personales tanto con las instituciones/organizaciones locales (por ejemplo, en Alfafar, Sedavi y Algemesí) como con muchas personas que viven en estas zonas.

<div><strong>FASE 2: El viaje continúa - recuperación y reconstrucción</strong>
</div>
<div>En esta fase, nuestro apoyo se destinará a:
</div>
<div>•	Apoyar a las <strong>familias de Alfafar</strong>: trabajando con las escuelas locales y los municipios, estamos identificando a los más afectados - familias que perdieron sus hogares, negocios y más.
</div>
<div>•<strong>	Proporcionar material</strong> (escolar): con la ayuda de voluntarios, estamos entregando material escolar a los niños necesitados para devolverles la sensación de normalidad.
</div>
<div>•<strong>	Limpieza comunitaria</strong>: los voluntarios están ayudando en las tareas de limpieza de escuelas y barrios: la recuperación es un largo camino, con 79 municipios afectados.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Reconstrucción de empresas locales</strong>: estamos apoyando a los empresarios mediante la compra de equipos para reabrir tiendas como panaderías y tiendas de comestibles.
</div>
<div>•	<strong>Restauración medioambiental</strong> en el Parque Natural de la Albufera: las aguas de las inundaciones contaminaron los emblemáticos arrozales y lagos de Valencia. La limpieza de estas zonas es esencial para que los agricultores puedan reanudar su actividad.

<div>Nuestra campaña de crowdfunding sigue abierta, y tu apoyo continuado es vital para ayudar a los afectados por este desastre a reconstruir sus vidas y sus comunidades. Desde el principio supimos que esto no es cuestión de unos días, sino de semanas y meses. Cada donación supone una diferencia tangible para continuar con nuestros esfuerzos, llevando esperanza, recursos y un futuro mejor a las personas de las zonas afectadas.
