<div>Hi folks. Here at Beacon Community Church in Wibsey we have taken on a mammoth task of redeveloping our Community Hall. What started as one set of essential repairs has become a complete overhaul including rebuilding, rewiring, repairing and modernising the hall to meet current health and safety requirements and building regulations.

<div>Our volunteers have done a fabulous job to raise more than £213,000 to complete the project. This included a very sizeable amount of personal donations and fundraising. We had a contingency of £10,000 for unexpected problems or unknown issues but we hoped this would not be used so we could instead develop a new purpose built kitchen. However, the problems did appear in the form of roof repairs and wall/plastering issues with the existing building. However, we are more than halfway through this project and we are on time and budget to deliver this asset to the community when it is most needed in December 2022.

<div>We have a fantastic bunch of ladies in our church who desperately want to reopen our Community Cafe (called Food For Thought). They want to cook, cater, bake, experiment, teach and share the kitchen with the community. We are also in the process of bring registered as a Warm Space to provide a valuable meeting space for our community as the cold kicks in.

<div>The builders "WPF Solutions" and our Project Management Company "JB Langley Associates Limited" have been brilliant and got us to a point where we have a clean, new and ready shell of a room to call our new kitchen. In addition, the wonderful people at Howdens have donated some kitchen units which we really appreciate.

<div>However, we still need so much to complete this work. Can you please help us by donating to our fund? Any help you can give would really assist us to ensure that our finished hall will be complimented by a kitchen that enables us to care and cater for everyone who comes through our doors.
