Food for SF Homeless Women during COVID

Donation protected
A Women's Place Drop In Center in San Francisco has an urgent need for meals for its homeless women. Before COVID, the women would go out during the day to obtain food. With the Shelter in Place order, that's no longer an option. The shelter has no food provisions. We're hoping to supply them with frozen meals as well as disposable plates/bowls/utensils.

Each meal costs $4-5 so even a donation of $5 helps, and the women will so appreciate your support!

About A Women's Place Drop In Center

A Woman's Place is a women's shelter in SF that provides care for the chronically homeless. Because of the overwhelming need in the city, they also opened up a Drop In Center, where women can go for a meal, primary care, or social services before they are placed in a longterm shelter. This is a crucial stop gap because it can take 2-4 weeks of "processing" by the city before a homeless person is assigned a shelter.

While the AWP Drop In Center was originally meant to be a day-to-day support, it has turned into a 24-hour shelter. During times of high need, like during the current COVID pandemic, it can house up to 40 women a night, though the space is small and the women only have plastic chairs to sleep on.
