Feed the poor of St. Martin Island after Hurricane

On Sept 6th, 2017 the devastating Hurricane Irma made landfall on the St. Martin Island. In the path of the hurricane were hundreds of homes, businesses, and institutions destroyed, just wiped away in a blink of an eye. The destruction left behind has left many people homeless and starving. My name is Augustin Caceres and I thank you for taking the time to read our fundraiser and our plea for help. With your help, we can give assistance to the most vulnerable and the neediest in our area. While the Dutch side of the island has seen repair, growth, and a resurgence of prosperity, the French side of the island has seen little to no help leaving thousands of its poorest citizens barely living day to day, hand to mouth.

Our immediate goal is to provide basics such as food, toiletries, and other vital necessities to those who need it most. To date we have acquired 50,000 lbs of rice by donation from the incredible people at LEGroup, the process alone of shipping and inventorying the rice was quite costly and more funds are needed. We will be distributing the rice to the communities who are at high risk and in immediate need. The rice will be delivered to the following institutions to be distributed to those in need: Red Croix France, Red Cross Nederlands, Emergency Food Restaurant Marigot, and at least 10 local churches, despite giving rice to 20 different street side Creole Style restaurants.

The joy of delivering food to the needy and disenfranchised is outweighed by the dire need to see these communities rise up and thrive once again. To see tourism dollars start to flow back and allow families to provide and to succeed on their own. A donation of any size from caring and generous donors such as yourself will go a long way. What may feel like $5 to you will feel like $1,000 to those who need it. Please take a moment of your time and spare a few dollars. If you can make a donation please share this story with your friends and family within your social circles, perhaps someone that you know is willing to help.

Thank you and God Bless each and every one of you!

As well,  we will choose and invite one of the donors to come to us during the distribution days so that they can help with the deliveries, photographs, and documentation if interested. This is your opportunity to give back in an incredible way and to see how your time and energy is immensely valued.

Please, donate here. Thank you.

Saint-Martin a désespérément besoin d'aide.
