Food Distribution in the Dominican Republic

Donation protected

Hi, friends. We are returning to the DR this January to begin construction on our FIFTH house and to distribute food to those in need. For those of you unfamiliar with the story, my cousin Jake, who passed away in a car accident when he was a senior in high school, had been to the Dominican on humanitarian trips and had a huge heart for the people on the island.  As a way for my family and his friends to  continue to honor his life and legacy, we carry on his work in the Dominican with the people he cared so deeply for. We have helped to build a school & children’s hospital, installed clean drinking water wells, have constructed 4 multi-family homes with businesses on the first floor so the occupants have jobs, & we have distributed several thousand pounds of food to those most in need.

This January we’re returning to begin building a fifth house and to distribute as much food as possible. We have two HUGE requests for those of you interested in helping out. Much like the US, corona has caused havoc in the DRas well. The school we partner with has asked  for internet ready devices such as old phones, tablets, laptops etc so that their students have access to the curriculum and do not fall even further behind. If you have any of these lying around and not being used we would LOVE to give them a new home! Text/call me if you do have any of these devices and I’ll arrange for them to be picked up/shipped to me before I leave for my trip. Additionally, we are asking for donations to help us purchase massive
amounts of food in bulk so that we can make family packs of food for the families most in need. Typically, we are able to give away several thousand pounds of rice, beans, oil, pasta, carrots, and sardines. Your donations will allow us to continue this work. Please know that 100% of your donations will go towards the purchase of food/supplies, as my travel costs and room and board have already been paid for. I fully recognize that this year has been a challenging one for many of you
and I’m sure your heart to help has been pulled in several directions throughout this difficult year. Know that every dollar helps and that there is no donation too small to help. If you find yourself in a position where donating is just not realistic, I’ve been there, and I get it. I would ask you to share this far and wide with as many people you think might donate as possible.

Thank you in advance for your consideration & support of this work, which is so very important to me and my family. There are pics below of our previous trips/work for those interested.

With Love,
