The Foley family is in need of our help. They are a wonderful family with big hearts who don't hesitate to help others and are in need of and deserve some big help right now.
Here's what happened:
Rory Foley, loving husband, caring father, hard worker, and business owner of Chimney Doctor, was performing a routine chimney inspection. He was on the roof of the house as he was inspecting the upper portion of the chimney. An explosion occurred and engulfed his leg in flames and his hand received minor burns. He was evacuated from the roof by paramedics and brought to the hospital. He was found to have severe burns and in need of skin grafts. Thankfully the muscles were spared. He went through two surgeries to repair the burned areas. The second surgery removed skin from his uninjured thigh and graft it to the burn areas.
The initial incident occurred on a Monday and he is expected to be released two weeks following initial arrival at the hospital. At which point he will need to be cared for at home for at least six weeks while he recovers. He will be unable to work and his wife will need to care for him, their children, two boys of 8 years old and 2 years old, and the home, amongst many other things.
Full details of what exploded cannot be released as it may compromise legal recourse. I can assure you, this explosion was not user error, or even a possibly foreseen circumstance. One may regard it as a freak occurrence. Needless to say, it left Rory and his family in a rough position with the him being the primary source of income and unable to work, the cost of maintaining the business while he's out, the medical costs, and the initial legal costs. Any possible reparations from the legal cycle are at this time unknown as to when they could see any reimbursement. In addition they obviously need to cover standard costs of living.
The target of this GoFundMe likely will not cover it all after it's all said and done. But it will certainly help, in so many ways, allowing the family to relieve at least one big worry while they get back on their feet and work to resume a normal life.
