A Foldable Power Chair for Celeste
Who are we raising funds for?
Celeste is a friendly, loving, cheerful, generous, kind and optimistic young lady who needs a foldable power chair to gain more independent mobility. Currently, she must rely on others to push her in a manual wheelchair when out and about in the community. She has cerebral palsy and developmental delays due to past traumatic brain injury. She has survived so much in her fifteen years of life with resilience and determination to live the best life possible. She wants to take part in all she can. She has physical, occupational, speech and music therapies weekly as well as other therapeutic activities. She is under the care of several doctors and specialists she sees on a regular basis. Accessible transportation is crucial to her well-being and development.
Why are we raising funds?
Buying a reliable wheelchair van or SUV is financially out of reach for our family. They range from $40,000 to 80,000+ new and $25,000-50,000+ used. Her insurance will not provide a foldable, easily transportable power chair that could be used with any standard vehicle.
