Help Terry Sr.

On October 9, 2014, my father-in-law, Terry Christensen Sr, fell off a ladder while trimming tree branches in my backyard. Terry had been out of work for 5 weeks & doing odd jobs to try to make money for my in-laws house payment. We needed trees limbed & he was willing to help us out. Terry was leaning to try to keep a falling branch from landing on his Grandsons' trampoline. He lost his balance & fell from about 15 feet.
He broke his tibia & fibula bones in his lower left leg & essentially shattered his ankle joint. There is also a small fracture higher up on his leg. Terry was taken by ambulance to our hospital & had his first surgery that night. The Orthopedic Surgeon said Terry has a very long road of recovery ahead. Terry will need another surgery with a bone graft 10-14 days after the first surgery & will not be able to walk, at all, for at least 2 months.
In about 3 months he will be able to start walking again. Terry & Susan Christensen are in dire need of prayers and any financial help that can be offered. With Terry already having been out of work, they were already struggling. Terry is obviously no longer able to do any "odd jobs" to earn money to help them stay in their home. It's absolutely critical that Terry Sr. rest & recover fully & not rush the healing of his injury. The injuries he has sustained are quite serious & can easily have long term consequences (including amputation!) if proper care & healing does not take place.
If you find yourself in a position to help, our family would forever be thankful. I am hoping to raise enough money to cover their house payment for the 3 months until Terry is able to begin walking & anything left will go towards their medical bills. Terry has a $3,000 insurance deductible that needs to be met before insurance will cover their portion of medical bills. That's a huge hardship on an unemployed family.
