Will you help us to provide a sanctuary for women recovering from addiction and all the other co-occurring disorders associated with a life that has become out of control?
FOCUS On Recovery, a 501(c)3 in Birmingham, Alabama, has been providing life-changing results for almost 20 years to help women recover and rebuild their lives after struggling with addiction. As a small non-profit with annual expenses less than $400,000, we rely on grants and individual donations in order to keep the program fees our residents pay as low as possible.
The organization is currently housed within a large apartment complex built in the early 1970s. As things have changed over the years, it is apparent that we could do a better job serving our ladies if we had our own facility. A home that could house 12-20 residents, on-site staff, and offices, would allow for daily on-site training and groups, better supervision and more personal involvement with each resident on a day to day basis. We want our women to have a place where they can meet, share meals, and live together while they work on restoring their lives, reconciling with family, and building their faith.
Our goal is to raise the funds necessary for a down payment on a house so that we can move away from apartment life and into a place more conducive to healing and restoration.
