Eldene Classroom Renovation

Donation protected
While conducting a school project in the Elsiesrivier neighborhood of Cape Town, South Africa, the members of the Georgetown University EML class of 2015 were deeply affected by the obvious need of the community, especially the young children, Rife with crime, poverty, and a sense of hopelessness, Elsiesrivier is the domain of gangs and serious criminals-with the exception of a few brave souls who risk their lives everyday to serve the children of the neighborhood at the Eldene Primary School.

During the course of the school project, the Georgetown class was asked by Pastor John Muir of the Capetown Church of Christ (CTCoC) to help fund a complete classroom renovation at the Elsiesrivier ELdene Primary School. Two other of the most desperately needy classrooms have already been completely renovated with corporate sponsers providing funding and CTCoC members volunteering their time, labor, and love, but a third classroom remains to be funded and completed.

Academy Foundation for the Future, the charitable outreach army of the Academy Mortgage Corporation, has agreed to match whatever we can raise to support this project--all the way up to the needed total amount of $5,000 USD. Please consider giving to support this very worthy project, and make a real difference in the lives of some of South Africa's most disadvantaged.
