Hello my name is Alyssa, I am a graduate from Panola College. In my years attending and working for the college I had the opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful people, but there is one particular person and her family who stuck out and made an impact on me and my life. The Davis' are a family of four Rick and Krystn who are caring/giving parents, Jordan a marvelous 6 year old who loves super heroes and wishes his mommy felt better and Wyatt a miraculous 3 year old who despite all his handicaps both mental and physical will put a smile on your face and give you the biggest hug of your life.
I am posting this because they have helped me in my times of need and I feel that this is how I can best help them in their time of need. I am going to make this long story short and just get straight to the point.
To maintain Wyatt's medical coverage the maximum income a family of four can make in a year is $34,000. Therefore, two educated parents are forced to live at the poverty level. If they exceed this income limit they will take on the debt of Wyatt's medical needs. This amounts to over $500,000 a year. Currently half of the family income each month goes to gas needed to drive Wyatt approximately 400 miles each week for doctors and therapy appointments. There are programs out there that base medical coverage on Wyatt's income, he has been on those waiting lists for over a year. He is currently somewhere in the 22,000s in one program and 45,000s in the other. Krystn doesn't hold out much hope for getting Wyatt on those programs any time soon.
In addition to this stress Krystn is needing a surgery that the family can not afford. She suffers from major damage at every level of cervical vertebra resulting in severe pain, numbness, and weakness in arms and hands. At Wyatt's current weight she manages, but his medical conditions mean he may never walk or talk. He will continue to grow and she will not be able to lift him much longer. Therefore, I am asking you all to help me help this wonderful family in their time and need so that the mother might be able to hold her child and take care of their needs without the thought of hurting or dropping her child because of her current medical condition.
I am asking for help to raise $10,000 to help this family out in order for her to have spinal surgery, remain off work until completely healed, and still be able to survive financially. Thank you for all your help in advance and if you can't help financially just know that we need prayers too.
