A funeral will take place Monday, March 10 at Demaine Funeral Home, 10565 Main St., Fairfax VA 22030 at 10 a.m. A second celebration of his life will take place Thursday, March 13 at Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Extension, Wallingford CT 06492 at 10 a.m.
Support John in His Battle Against Glioblastoma
In October, our brother John was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a challenging and aggressive form of brain cancer. As we come together to support him during this difficult time, we are reaching out for financial assistance to cover expenses. Your generous donations will help with rent, groceries, and critical medical care that John urgently needs.
John had to rescind an offer for a new job, and this has upended his life in every way. There are a lot of expenses that were not anticipated before this catastrophic event.
His siblings are all pitching in, whether it be financially or with our time to be with him, but we can't do it all on our own. This list doesn't cover everything, but we appreciate your help in any form.
- Living Arrangements: We were able to move John to a first-floor apartment, but without steady income, we may have difficulty paying his rent and living expenses.
- Insurance: His job is currently protected under FMLA, but we are unsure of what will happen once that runs out.
- Transport charges to get him to and from treatment.
- Co-pays for medical expenses (prescriptions).
- Over-the-counter medication and things that help John throughout the day, such as a shower chair.
- Groceries and meals for John and whoever is staying with him, as he needs someone with him 24/7. If you want to order meals, please let us know so we can arrange it to the correct address.
- Monthly expenses such as utilities and other living expenses.
