The World Weightlifting Championships are happening in November in Almaty, in the glorious nation of Kazakhstan, and Cathal Byrd & Harry Leech are taking part - Cathal is competing in the 85kg class and Harry is coaching the Irish team at the event.
Although the are representing their country, Irish weightlifters and coaches have to fund their own way to international competitions, and spending a week in Kazakhstan is expensive.
We're asking for your support and help to send an honest, hard-working athlete and his caffeine-loving coach to this event.
You can donate any amount through our GoFundMe page and the funds raised will be used to help cover the cost of flights and accomodation for these two.
Any amount, no matter how small will be appreciated, but if you donate €10 or more and send us your address, as a thank you we'll send you a postcard from Kazakhstan.
(Just in case there are any problems with the Kazakh post we'll also email photographs of the postcard)
