Help Rebuild our Church

Please help us save/restore our church

In 1903 the first ‘building’ was organized under a large oak tree near the site of the present church at 104 Langston Chapel Road.  In 1910 the building burned down. The present sanctuary was built in 1912 and still stands today. Over the years, a small multipurpose annex with kitchen, restrooms, two classrooms and fellowship area were added.

When Langston Church was organized, the small church was originally outside of the city and surrounded by mostly farmland.  With the growth of Statesboro, more and more residents are moving into and around the community of Statesboro. It has now been surrounded with growth and has maintained its quaint charm for 107 years.

We are in the process of merging with Life Spring United Methodist Church so we can help our church and the community continue to grow.

In doing so, we have found that our church needs some major renovations,  The steeple has a leak and the rain has caused damage to the interior walls which will have to be replaced.  The electrical wiring will have to be brought up to code. We will also need to widen our doors to make them handicap accessible.  Our deadline to have this completed is March 17, 2019, so as you can see that doesn’t leave us much time. Our church members are digging in to save money to do as much as we can, but finances have become an issue. We need to raise $30,000 and are hoping for your help.  We would like to see our little church stand tall for another 100 years.

God Bless you for any help you can give us.
