HELP A MARINE VETERAN SAVE HIS HOME
After living in his home for almost 40 years, former Marine Dan Bernie has been sued by his for 75% of his home ownership. Dan’s two brothers have college and advanced college degrees with professional careers. Title has been in Dan’s name and Dan needs our help.
Dan has struggled his whole life with learning disabilities and special schooling.
Dan is one of the most appreciative and hardest working people you could ever know. He would give you his right arm if you needed it. And now he needs our help from caring people.
Dan worked in Public Works for the Town of Moraga, California for approximately 35 years. Dan was a dedicated hard worker for the Town. He also proudly served as an Embassy Guard for United States Marine Corp in Tokyo, Japan.
All he wanted to do was hunt, fish, and retire living in his home in Lafayette California. Now he could be losing the rights to live out his life in the only home he has had for the last 40 years.
Per the Cross Complaint of Complaint filed December 21, 2017 Case #C17-02495 in Costa County against Dan: “Cross defendants knowingly took advantage of Cross-Complaints (Dan) disabilities subjecting him to cruel and unjust hardship in conscious disregard of his rights” ; further stated, “Cross Complainant (Dan) was susceptible to such undue influence, due to cross-complainants’ lifelong limitation, of which cross-defendants, cross complainant’s brothers, were aware, and sought to exploit.”
The bottom line is Dan stands to lose his home he worked so hard for.
We hope to raise $100,000 for his legal defense. He needs our help! Please donate now to help Dan’s legal defense. Should this case be settled, any funds left over they will be donated to another local veteran in need.
