FLUID RESILIENCE dance tour 2024 to thive
WE: myself and artistic and production team are seeking this last layer of funding to balance our non-for-profit cultural budget. We are almost there, and we would love this support for;
one flight from Berlin to Montreal return
videographer and editing for 2 videos for installations
one videographer for documentation and editing in Ottawa
one photographer for documentation in Ottawa
one Cultural Manager to promote to give a future to the work to thrive.
WE are holding this fundraiser open until August 30, 2024. THANK YOU!
Me:
I am an offshore Canadian dancer, choreographer, and educator living and working in Berlin. Delighted to bring this work to Canada with a collaboration with Ottawa Dance Collective since 2017.
What is this Dance work?
Fluid Resilience is a dance work made in 2020, it’s a performance that shares the subtle and amplified connection of water in Nature through a lens of socio-ecological Resilience, in the processes of reconnecting to the biosphere.
We are touring this work, from Berlin Germany where it was created to Ottawa Canada where it will be performed September 5-6th 2024.
WE are travelling with long distance air travel short distance rail travel.
What else?
Fluid Resilience took source inspiration from the work of the Resilience Alliance. An approach to (re-) connecting to Nature.
A wonderful invitation from PECS came along the way, https://na.eventscloud.com/website/69930/home/ to show a video version our the work and to lead a workshop. They have no travel funding nor funding for videographer funding. This is an excellent opportunity for interdisciplinary creative and scientific approaches for our world scientists and their work for sustainability research and practices. of Art and Science.
We are very grateful have wonderful funding support from the National Performance Network in Germany. This covers much of our expenses including accommodation and performance fees. The presenters/hosts Ottawa Dance Directive are a small dance threatre dedicated to contemporary dance at a local, national and international level. These two supports make this tour possible.
The Digital Arts Resource Centre invited us to install a video of Fluid Resilience, for this installation we need to re-edit the documented Performance video. We have no funding for this. It's an excellent opportunity to engage with a public in this cross over of art and science and perhaps inspire them.
We have applied to several cultural bodies for these extra costs and feel grateful for what we have received alas just missing this amount. Your kind and generous assistance would give our team these last threads to weave in a sustainable budget and would give us the uplift and possibility to thrive.
Thanking you so very much in advance.!
