Flower Family IVF Journey

Donation protected
Hi everyone! This is Sara Flower and Jesse Flower-Ambroch and we are humbly asking for your help during our last leg of in vitro fertilization treatment.

Back in October 2019 we began trying to grow our family. We were able to conceive easily but unfortunately all three of our pregnancies were not viable. This was a highly stressful and traumatic experience compounded by the fact that it occurred during the pandemic. During the second pregnancy, for instance, lock-down was in full effect and we could not even get in for a routine ultrasound to assess the severity of our diagnosis.

The painful outcomes of these pregnancies led us to pursue IVF and the wonderful care of Dr. Karine Chung. Dr. Chung came highly recommended by close friends and we made the decision to travel back and forth to her office in Los Angeles for our visits. IVF has been its own journey—full of ups and downs—but we are hopeful in that we now have one (1!) fully viable embryo awaiting its transfer at some point in 2022.

At this point, we have tapped many of our resources to pay for our treatment, including spending our emergency savings and taking loans. The IVF process has been much more in-depth and expensive than we understood it would be, but we are determined to see it through.

Sara writing: Although our savings has not bounced back, I have recently felt extremely grateful for the other facets that have recovered. Grateful for the way I've been able to rebound both emotionally and physically. Grateful for our healthy family. Even though my body has surprised me in many negative ways I am in awe of how it continues to support me being active which has been a large part of my recovery. Making time for yoga, riding horses, hiking and running (+ therapy!) has truly been a lifesaver.

Sharing this personal part of our lives has been an exercise in vulnerability and growth. We never thought this would be a part of our story in growing our family but luckily the science and precision of this medical technology has helped us to overcome the hardest part of the journey. We are asking for your help to get us through the last phase of our treatment and any donation will be received with gratitude. We thank you for you kindness and support!
