Here at FLOW Aquatics Swim School, we do our best to change lives in the water, but we also strive to make a positive difference within our community.
With the season upon us, and with so many blessing of our own, we wanted to give back to those who have not been as fortunate this year. We have adopted some families from our community, who not only need our help this year to create a memorable holiday season, but some comfort for a few months beyond. To do this we are reaching out to all our FLOW family and friends to help us achieve our goals.
Here are just some of the stories behind the families we have adopted:
A single mother, with a 4 year old girl and 7 year old boy, who have been homeless up until last month, when they were able to finally secure an apartment.
A family, with 2 boys, ages 8 and 10, where the mother has recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The father had to quit his job to help care for her.
That being said, all the extra money these families have is barely covering the rent and bills, so there is nothing left over for the holidays or extra necessities after the fact.
We realize the holidays are fast approaching and our goal is to raise as much as we can ($5000 or more) for these families to get them them through the holidays and have some breathing room for a month or two beyond before December 19th.
