Flores Family Gilroy Fire

A tragedy has recently struck an elderly retired educator, his disabled son, along with a single mother raising two preteen girls who lived in a separate part of the house. A fire struck their home in the early morning hours on Thursday, November 9th, 2017. The house, plus all belongings and personal effects, were totally lost in the fire. Everyone who lived at the home barely escaped the fire, with literally only the clothes on their backs. Currently, the residents are staying at temporary local shelters. The single mother is a minimum wage earner who has raised her daughters alone. The house was the only home they have known for the majority of their lives. The owner of the home raised his own two sons in the house and had planned to stay in the home for the remainder of his retirement. Money donated will go directly to those affected and will help them rebuild their lives with the bare basics.
