On Saturday night around midnight, the sever bands of Hurricane Florence hit Charlotte.
That is when an oak, 250 feet tall came crashing down, ripping up our water lines,
The hurricane did not hit here first. Although I called the insurance immediately, we need to wait for an available claims adjuster.
The tree's weight crashed through part of the roof, we have water damage, and structural damage. However....and this is a true miracle...another oak is holding the majority of the limbs and the weight of the trunk. The major weight of this huge oak is being held by limbs of another oak. We are in a race of time. If the limbs snap, our house will be destroyed.
Two tree services have come out, both understand that this is a dangerous situation where the tree must come down NOW. If the limbs fail, the entire house is gone. "Split like a knife" was what he said.
I've already had scammers come to the house. The police have told me it is not structurally sound to enter. We must get this down before we lose it all. We are asking for help with the upfront deductible fees so we can get this going NOW. It has been exhausting....
It is a waiting game we can not afford to play. Anything that you can give, that will help us save the rest, and will help me and my four boys. We have been lucky so far. When I hear professionals say that we should have died...I can only be grateful.
