The Florence Center for Contemporary Music, Inc. (FCCM) exists to foster the creation, performance, publication and preservation of contemporary American music through private instruction, ensemble performances, audio and video production and start-up workspace for entrepreneurs entering the music and media production fields. The Florence Center for Contemporary Music, Inc., is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
FCCM will offer instruction to individuals of all ages in woodwind, brass, percussion and strings (orchestral group), and guitar, bass, piano, keyboard, drum set and vocal (combo group). Students who desire to learn the performance demands of an organized band (rock band, jazz band, etc.) will have the opportunity to rehearse with such a group, manage, book and promote the group, and perform in public.
FCCM will also host seminars and workshops with working professionals involved in the various aspects of performance, songwriting, concert promotion/management, and recording/sound reinforcement.
At the very heart of FCCM is the student. Students of any age who want to become proficient on their chosen instrument, become a better songster, or a better producer/promoter.
To quote Gene Watts, Trombonist of The Canadian Brass,"..in the educational process, performance is as important as anything else. Music isn't a kid sitting in his room practicing. It's the communication with others that gives meaning to music." As Director for FCCM, this is my vision and goal.
Thank You for your contribution.
