Floortje Bijleveld

Dear INSEAD 11D class,

Earlier this week, on Tuesday the 13th of September, our dear friend and classmate Floortje, passed away, after battling cancer for 16 months. She was only 38 years old and she leaves behind her husband (our dear friend and classmate) John and her three young children Pieter, Lisa and Charlie. Yesterday was her final farewell, a beautiful, sad and emotional ceremony, attended by many family members, friends and colleagues. We will miss Floortje immensely, but she lives on in our hearts.

Together with a few INSEAD classmates who attended the ceremony, we had the idea to raise some money, so that we can buy a gift for John and their three children, as a memory of Floortje on behalf of our INSEAD 11D class. We have not yet settled on a gift, but were thinking of a piece of art or a bench in her memory (in Hilversum), where she lived with John and the three kids. If there is any money left, we will donate the remainder to her chosen charities, either the KWF (cancer foundation) or the preservation of the Hilversum heath.
