Flooding in Deux-Montagnes
Donation protected
The recent spring thaw in the Province of Quebec brought with it record level floods that have led to “States of emergency” being declared in several communities.
One of the communities impacted by these orders is the Ville de Deux-Montagnes, which is where our family reside.
On 7 May we were forced to evacuate our home and have since then been working to protect the belongings that were not damaged beyond repair and to take the necessary steps to rebuild our lives.
Due to the extent of the damage to our domicile, we have also begun the long and arduous process of obtaining the services, support and compensation from our insurance company and the various levels of government for the remediation and reconstruction of our home.
Right niw we are working on a process to meet with the government, but we are not able to speed up, we are in long waiting list. At the moment, we have only two bedrooms upstairs, which have not been touched by the water and a small bathroom with cold water.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
